Detecting the breakthrough

SEIBOLD Wasser developed models and algorithms to detect break trough and threshold points of filter systems.
Process Stability refers to the consistency of the process with respect to important process characteristics such as the average value of a key dimension or the variation in that key dimension. If the process behaves consistently over time, then the process is stable or in control and process capabilities can be stated. To gather more data by online measurements will help this task.

Process design improvement
Online measurement for industrial process improvement and stabilisation.

Ion selective filters, sand filters and other removal equipment may be overloaded … The break point detection is a optimal online analyser application, because it’s not about having the absolute exact value but a change in concentration measured.
The breakthrough of filter systems always follow a specific pattern and timing.

Model and parameters

  • trend detection; multiple points increasing concentration measured
  • slope calculation; concentration change in time
  • threshold precision; differentiate between false measurement and break through

SEIBOLD Wasser installed an analyser for Nickel in the outlet of an industrial waste water treatment. The data should provide more information on process stability and timing. The online analyser gave the information to increase the process stability as well as lowered the resources needed.
