In 2021 we installed many analysers at very different places. To get on our list for best projects a combination of meaningful and valuable measurements, a great site and a challenging application is the basis. Common in all projects: real complete unattended analyser operation and wonderful people and beautiful locations.

Project: Water Treatment Control.

On 15 April 2019 Norte Dame caught fire and lost the 400 tons Lead roof. While re-construction takes place all water from the site is collected and treated, our analysers measure Lead content before and after treatment. The technical difficulty is that not only Lead is in the sample but other heavy metals and other parameters as well. The typical surface water monitoring challenge.

Project: River Water Monitoring in Kathmandu.

The technical challenge is typical for river water monitoring: changes in flow volume and speed and changes in matrix and sometimes more dirt. Our strategy is always to avoid filtration systems – because of high maintenance and delayed response. The flow through system and big diameters of hoses, photometer and pumps will handle this situation perfectly. The analyser flow through design will help to prevent fouling and blocking. The analysers measure can measure in standard addition mode to detect unknown interferences. Because of Covid-travel restrictions, the knowledge transfer for setting into operation and commissioning is far more complicated as in normal times – we always come to the sites and support locally to ensure highest quality of operational reliability and measurement results.

Project: Water Treatment Control.

The Arsenic analyser measures Arsenic concentration before and after treatment. This site is in the Andes at 3000 meters altitude. To get there save it needs time and very skilled pilots and drives. The biggest challenge is that zero unplanned downtime is not an option but a necessity.
